Any of you guys tried it, I'm installing it to a flash drive right now and I'm going to check it out.

Yeah, I have it on another hard drive and I dual boot.

It's really cool but I barely ever use it. Linux is an awesome environment for development and security and stuff like that. But since my computer is mainly for games, I stick to my windows side most of the time.

I'm thinking about just installing it for fun to try it out. Maybe start using it for school. I've heard a lot about all the apps, are there any that I should check out?

Nothing I'd recommend off the top of my head.

Get it if you want to learn how to program and stuff.

I have Ubuntu Netbook on my Netbook. It's really neat and simple, perfect for a Netbook.

Mint
Mint
MINT

If you watch videos or listen to music, Ubuntu was a fucking bitch install codexs and shit. Use mint or at least try it out,

and use this stable release.

You're also going to have to learn how to use a terminal 'kill -9' because programs WILL FUCK UP HARD!

Also the command Uptime because half the fun of linux is seeing how long your have the computer on for. I had my comp on for four months straight, and a stupid power outage shut it down.

it's a bit more friendlier because its goal is for personal usage than the corporate and government usage that Ubuntu is aiming for.

It also has this huge list of programs that a person can search for install easily with in the operating system.
