building new PC

getting Windows 7, case and PSU at a store nearby.

CPU + mobo

unfortunately because of tax and the fact I'm getting a new monitor (current one won't support 1920x1080, which I can do with my new GPU) and Windows 7 64 bit I'm probably looking at 1000 bucks so if anyone can find similar shit for cheaper let me know.

No biggie from my experience. I had to pirate Windows 7 when my OS crapped out.

The computer seems pretty solid for the price. Throwing in Windows and a new monitor will make it cost about that much.

yeah that's how i feel. without those two things I'd be sitting at a reasonable price, but no sense in not taking advantage of the max 2560x1600 resolution provided my GPU (though my monitor will only go up to 1920x1080, which is fine) and vista is, well, shit

My laptop has been running pirated Windows 7 for about a year now, works perfectly.

we might be using the same monitor

(it's really damn good though i love it - it's just time to get something better)
