Yeah, downloaded it yesterday. Bethesda's "surprise" wasn't particularly impressive.

I'm gonna try and make a "Dark Souls" mod for Skyrim. Something that combines the difficulty curve, pacing and camera system of that game and makes it fit to Skyrim. There were a shitload of scripts to look at, so it's prolly gonna take me a while. But I can barely tolerate the game as it stands, so I really want to make it for myself at least.

The surprise was a high-res texture pack that wasn't much better than what the game already has. Third-party mods are way better.

I can't stand the game because a lot of it is just fucking dull. The combat really needs to be reworked. In my opinion, it's worse than Oblivion's combat.

i don't know about that. the HD pack isn't a staggering improvement but i'm yet to see a community graphics mod that was not either lazy upsampling+photoshop filters or competent but misguided artwork that clashed with the game's art direction.
